Ready or not, here it comes...

It's here.

WINTER.

In Buffalo, it's a seven-month endeavor.

I hate it.

From October to April, I am shivering in our dank little apartment. I swear, it is colder inside than it is outside, and because of the horrible insulation, our heating bill in the winter is, to say the least, outrageous.

Ryan and I have been bundled up in our bedroom this week. We crank the little space heater, put on our heavy sweatshirts, and study/grade papers with a mug of hot cocoa nearby.

And it's only October 3rd. Will I last until May when it warms up again?

There are no guarantees!!

  1. Seriously if you guys ever need to warm up some where we keep our apartment at about 75 degrees (we don't have to pay for heat!) :)

  2. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Yesterday at the airshow I was in shorts and short sleeves and slathering on sun screen. Ahhh Caliornia. Sweet, sweet California.

  3. Our hell has finally ended and we are now enjoying a fantastic winter in the mid 80's, hopefully cooling down a little more this month. I am sorry, so so sorry. Last week we hit 107 degrees and it just felt so wrong for September. I swear Colorado is where its at!

  6. Hmmm, sounds like a trip to sunny SoCal is in order. Seriously though, I sort of just a tiny bit miss that sometimes. I would like to experience it just for a week maybe.

  8. I feel your pain! Minnesota was awful too. Our heating bills were $700 a month. Luckily we only had to suffer through one winter. We LOVE it here in Texas!

  9. we just bought the ghiradelli hot chocolate- it is heavenly. And our house is also freezing...I kind of feel bad for Henry. He doesn't have anyone to snuggle with at night like I do. But he does have the extra fat on his thighs.
